Frequently Asked Questions

How long does permanent makeup last?

Results vary from person to person depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products, and overall health. Most clients enjoy their results for 1–3 years before a color refresh is desired. To keep your tattoo looking its best, a touch-up is typically recommended every 12–24 months.

What is the aftercare?

After your procedure, I will apply a protective healing ointment and provide detailed aftercare instructions. In general, the area should be kept clean and lightly hydrated while it heals.

For approximately a week, you should avoid:

  • Excessive sweating and strenuous exercise

  • Swimming pools, hot tubs, and saunas

  • Direct sun exposure and tanning

  • Picking, scratching, or exfoliating the treated area

Proper aftercare is essential for beautiful healed results and long-lasting pigment retention.

How do touch-ups work?

A perfecting touch-up may be recommended after your initial appointment to reinforce color, make adjustments, or address any areas that healed lighter than expected.

Initial touch-ups are typically performed between 4-6 weeks after your first appointment. Future color refresh appointments can be scheduled as needed to maintain your results.

Touch-up Pricing

Cosmetic tattoos naturally soften over time. Touch-up appointments help maintain the shape, color, and overall appearance of your results.

Initial Perfecting Touch-Up — $175
Performed 6–12 weeks after your initial appointment, if needed, to reinforce color, make adjustments, or perfect healed results.

Color Refresh (2–12 Months) — $350
For existing clients looking to refresh and maintain their cosmetic tattoo within 2–12 months of their most recent treatment.

12+ Months Refresher — $450
Recommended for clients whose cosmetic tattoo has naturally faded and would like to restore color and definition.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

Your comfort is a top priority. Medical-grade topical anesthetics are used before and throughout the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain, and many are surprised by how easy the process feels.

How long is the healing process?

Most procedures heal within 7–10 days, although complete settling of the pigment can take several weeks.

It's normal for the treated area to appear darker, brighter, or more defined immediately after your appointment. As healing progresses, the color will soften and settle into a more natural appearance.

Everyone heals differently, and final results are typically evaluated at your touch-up appointment.

How do you choose the shape and design?

Every service is customized to your unique features and goals. Before beginning, we'll discuss your desired look, review inspiration photos if you'd like, and create a design that complements your facial structure and natural features.

Nothing is tattooed until you're happy with the design.

How do you choose the color?

Pigment selection is carefully customized for each client based on skin tone, natural coloring, and desired outcome. Together we'll choose a shade that enhances your features while healing beautifully and naturally over time.

Please note that freshly applied pigment will appear more vibrant initially and will soften during the healing process.

What types of pigments do you use?

I use high-quality pigments specifically formulated for permanent cosmetics. These pigments are designed to heal naturally in the skin while maintaining beautiful, long-lasting results.

Who is not a candidate for permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup may not be suitable for individuals who are pregnant or nursing, under 18 years old, currently undergoing chemotherapy, taking certain blood-thinning medications, have uncontrolled diabetes, active skin conditions in the treatment area, are prone to keloid scarring, or have certain medical conditions that affect healing.

All clients will complete a health history and consent form prior to their appointment to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate.

Can permanent makeup be done over scars?

In many cases, yes. Permanent makeup can often be performed over fully healed scars and may help improve the appearance of certain areas. If you have a scar in the treatment area, please send a clear photo prior to booking so I can determine whether you're a good candidate.

Lash Extension Pre&Post Care

Try your best to arrive to your appointment without ANY eye makeup, oils, or moisturizers. Please do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and the day of your appointment to help minimize the cleanup time and more time for lashing.

  • A good sign of when you need a refill is when your extensions are 50%-60% gone

  • The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise; no downtime after apt.

  • Do not go tanning for 24 hours after application

  • Please try to avoid sleeping on your stomach to ensure your lashes don't get permed the wrong way!

  • Use an oil-free eye makeup remover

  • Try not to run water directly on your lashes

  • Do not rub, pick or pull your eyes

  • If using mascara, use water based formulas

  • When applying mascara avoiding the root area.

  • Avoid using an eyelash curler

Are Cosmetic Tattoos For Me?

Contraindications & Pre-Care Information

All clients are required to complete and electronically sign consent and health history forms prior to their appointment. These forms help determine whether cosmetic tattooing is safe and appropriate for you.

You may not be eligible for Microblading, Powder Brows, Lip Blushing, or Lash Line Enhancement if:

  • You are pregnant or currently nursing.

  • You are under 18 years of age.

  • You have uncontrolled diabetes.

  • You have eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea on or near the treatment area.

  • You are currently taking antibiotics (within the past 10 days), unless prescribed an antiviral medication for a lip blushing procedure.

  • You take blood-thinning medications or supplements, including aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, or similar products. If you are unsure whether a medication thins the blood, please consult your physician before booking.

  • You are currently undergoing chemotherapy or have completed chemotherapy within the past 12 months.

  • You are currently taking Accutane or have taken it within the past year.

  • You have had microneedling, chemical peels, IPL, laser treatments, or other skin-resurfacing procedures within the last 4 weeks.

24 Hours Before Your Appointment

To ensure the best possible healed results, please avoid the following for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment:

  • Alcohol

  • Coffee or excessive caffeine

  • Aspirin

  • Ibuprofen

  • Fish oil supplements

  • Any other blood-thinning supplements or medications unless prescribed by your physician

Skincare Restrictions

  • Please discontinue the use of the following products at least 4 weeks before your appointment:

  • Retinol products

  • Vitamin A serums

  • Skin-lightening or bleaching creams

  • Chemical exfoliants in the treatment area

Aftercare Commitment

  • Proper aftercare is just as important as the procedure itself. Cosmetic tattooing requires a healing period, and your final results depend heavily on how well aftercare instructions are followed.

  • If you are unable to commit to the recommended aftercare, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment. Improper aftercare can lead to poor pigment retention, uneven healing, blurred results, and may require additional corrective work.
